This blog is about their education. It's a bit of an open house every time you check in to the site. We're constantly examining the fact that "to whom much is given much is expected." (Lk 12:48) And, Thank you for your support :-)
HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY
Often our history and geography lessons begin with field trips. But usually we just follow The Well Trained Mind format of Story of the World materials in the grammar stage. For the classical education method, we've used the TOC in SOTW, but readings from Mrs. Synge's turn-of-the-twentieth-century series, Story of the World during our Logic Stage turn through history. I've tried to incorporate literature study, but focused on discussing the logic stage question of "Why?" before the literature. The logic stage lessons conclude with an improved or more detailed map pertaining to each topic and graphics describing each topic on a notebook page added to each student's history binder.
